Walking in the Costa Blanca Minimize
Located within the spectacularly unspoilt region of Marina Alta, Casa Quinta is your gateway to some of the best walking routes in Spain.

Within easy reach of your comfortable villa, you have access to the stunning Costa Blanca mountains, one of Spain’s finest walking regions.

This area offers walkers of all abilities breath-taking routes set against a backdrop of history dating back to the times of the Moorish conquest of Spain.

The Walking Season

The season runs from October to June, the summer months being deemed too hot for comfortable walking.

It is worth remembering that this region of Spain enjoys over 300 days of sun every year so even in the winter months you can expect clear skies and good walking temperatures.

Walking from Casa Quinta

Casa Quinta provides 14 tried and tested walks, the details of which are laminated for the ease of use of our guests. These walks feature a range of distances and difficulties from a two-hour coastal stroll (easy/moderate) to more challenging seven-hour walks with steep inclines (good paths but strenuous walking).

Many of the walks mentioned will make reference to mozárabic trails, which date from the 14th century, and are marvels of engineering. Due to the arid climate in this area, many have survived to this day in reasonable condition without maintenance. The best examples are in the Val de Laguart (see walk 3 below) to the north of the Marina Alta, where the Camino de Juvias descends into the Barranco del Infierno, where the trails wind over 18km up and down the valleys.
